Flying the Flags... 'The Baltic Way'

GOAL Events' partner AERODIUM celebrate the 3rd decade since The Baltic Way human chain.

23rd August 1989 approximately 2 million inhabitants of the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) held hands through their capitals, crossing borders from Tallinn through Riga to Vilnius. A peaceful demonstration for their independence from Soviet rule.

The Baltic Way achieved an important step in the countries’ path to independence by getting the USSR to admit to their past crimes.

The demonstration also sparked international solidarity movements in Berlin, Leningrad, Moscow, Melbourne, Stockholm, Tbilisi, Toronto and elsewhere in the world. A lot of international attention and respect came from ‘The Baltic Way’.

To celebrate the 30-year anniversary, AERODIUM created a flying video with the countries’ flags. View it here.

GOAL Events offer the unique opportunity to fly in AERODIUM’s wind tunnel in Latvia. AERODIUM was the team to create the world’s first wind tunnel for entertainment purposes and hold the first flight show at the Olympic Games in Turino (2006).

They built the biggest wind tunnel in London and trained Tom Cruise for almost a year for the Mission Impossible movie to do a ‘Halo Jump’!

This is an experience you won’t forget.
