5 Things that will make your trip to Estonia environmentally friendly

1. No waste organic restaurant

Fotografiska's head chef Paul Svensson insists on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce. Svensson manages to constantly push the boundaries and obtains magical flavours from all produce and aims for minimal food waste. The Organic plant-based kitchen produces dishes with enhanced flavours whilst using all parts of the ingredients. Fotografiskas is insistent on full sustainability.

2. Eco-Safe flights

In a cooperation with 'First Climate', offset 100% of carbon footprint caused by your flight when you fly with AirBaltic.

The Greenest Commerical Jet In The Skies - AirBaltic are modernising their fleet at great speed – very soon, airBaltic will be using only Airbus A220-300 aircraft – currently the world’s greenest commercial aircraft in the skies. Compared to previous generation aircraft of similar size, the new planes feature a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions, 50% less NOx emissions, and a 2x smaller noise footprint. Once the full switch to Airbus A220-300 aircraft takes place in 2022, we’ll be a step closer to being the greenest airline in Europe.

3. Self-driving electric bus
Passengers can now travel through Tallinn on a self-driving bus. The route starts at the Kadroig tram stop and the Kumu Art Gallery. With 6 bus stops the self-driving electric bus is an easy and sustainable form of transport. Timings are between 10am and 1pm then between 2pm and 4pm from Tuesdays to Sundays each week with with plans to operate later in the season.

The bus is part of the Sohjoa Baltic project which researches, promotes and pilots automated driverless minibuses as part of the public transport chain. In Estonia the project is run by the Tallinn transport department in cooperation with the Tallinn University of Technology.

4. Nationwide free wifi

Enjoy free wi-fi throughout Estonia. Estonia is one of the most advanced e-societies in the world. Work and data have largely moved to cyberspace, drastically reducing the use of paper. It’s easy to stay connected with your delegates and go paperless in Estonia by using the free, reliable internet connections that are available in all hotels and meeting places.

5. Estonia on foot
By having everything in very close proximity within the city, Tallinn is a city very much on foot. Most places within the city only require about 5-10 minutes of foot power, making the use of public transport minimal and therefore keeping the carbon footprint low and Economically safe.
