Expanding Seville!

After being awarded Best City in Travel in the World by Lonely Planet in 2018, and winning the ACI EUROPE Best Airport Award (in the '5-10 million passengers' category), Seville is stepping up its infrastructure over the next few years.

Expanding Airport

Seville, possibly the most quintessentially Spanish among the regions of Spain is extending the international airport. 

Since 2016, Seville Airport has been breaking one record after another, and in just two years it has gone from 4.6 million passengers to 6.3 million passengers, a growth of 24.9%. No Spanish airport grew at the same rate as Seville in 2018, and it was ranked as one of the top two airports, by visitor traffic, in Europe. 

This growth justifies the very ambitious plan to extend and upgrade Seville Airport, with an investment of 60 million euros. The works have already started and are scheduled to finish by 2022 and will result in a 42% increase in size, with new modern facilities. 

Expanding Hotels 

Seville is also expanding MICE facilities, with a large number of new 4 and 5 star hotels being built in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Never before has the city experienced such a development, 1600 hotel rooms, across 25 branded properties in the city centre.
