Hamburg Convention Bureau is further supporting meeting planners with new congress funding for any 2 day (or longer) meeting based on overnight accommodation in the city, and enhanced support is on offer where a more than 50% of participants are from outside Germany.

To be eligible for basic funding, the event must take place at an event venue booked in Hamburg for which a rental fee is paid (In-house function rooms are not eligible). The event must generate at least 100 overnight stays in Hamburg-based hotels (i.e. room nights  defined as any night between the official opening and the official closing of the event).

As a further basic requirement, a declaration of commitment to sustainability must be signed by the applicant, a move which will demonstrate how far Hamburg already meets supplier criteria for more sustainable meetings, and assist those meeting planners who must deliver such standards for their stakeholders.

This further increases Hamburg’s appeal as a meeting destination. The City has upped the number of meeting hotels and venues in recent years and more properties are opening within the next 18 months.
